Two weeks after my son was born in 2007, I found myself in a hospital for four days with a serious heart problem. The fact is, I had let my health go to the extent that my body gave out. It was a major wakeup call. That experience opened a new door of awareness for me. I came to realize that if I wanted something different, I needed to do something different. If I wanted something better, I needed to do it better. We’re living at one of the most exciting times in history and I believe you can have freedom on your terms. You can have it all, if you’re willing to take the necessary steps. It’s not easy. I’ve certainly made my share of mistakes and I want to help you avoid those on your own journey. This show was born as part of my process and was inspired by Joe Polish, Genius Network, and many mentors I’m fortunate to call friends. It doesn’t matter what your background is or where you’ve been: It only matters that you want to grow. Whatever your definition of success, I will challenge, guide, and connect you to some of the best leaders and experts in the world today. Now is your time - you deserve it! On today’s show, I’m chatting with my friend Dr Cristy Lopez about the myth we’ve all been told, that you can’t get the things you really want in life unless you go through pain to get there. To be blunt: I don’t buy it.

Why do I have to wait to experience joy and happiness in life simply because I haven’t reached the pinnacle of success that I’m shooting for? What would happen if you could double the amount of sales you made - with the same number of leads? What would that mean to you, your family, and your company?

More importantly, what would that mean for your customers?

I used to think that sales was difficult. At times I thought to be successful at sales, I’d have to be pushy or overbearing. However, once I began studying the true nature of sales and understanding that it’s about helping people and adding value to their lives, sales has become something I love to do.

You can improve your ability to influence, persuade and sell - and today I’m going to show you how.

Truth be told, I didn’t invent any of this. This episode features insights from the study and trial and error over the last 22 years. In this episode I reveal a relatively simple multi-step process you can put in place to consistently generate more sales.

You’ve got to understand the sales process before you can be good at it.

Every sales presentation is made up of a number of “sections or steps.”

What are those sections?

The introduction, The Why, The Walk Through, The Price, The Guarantee, Testimonials, and The Ask.

Each step leads the candidate from interest to commitment.

It all starts with great preparation. That means you’ve got to do your homework before you go to the sales appointment. What are the prospect’s needs and desires? What are the risks they’d be taking by using your solution? How can you answer each of those risks effectively and meet their needs and desires?

Doing your homework up front and anticipating their needs will give you a competitive advantage. It gives you the tools to ask the right questions to help get them to like, trust, and respect you - to shift from a sales pest to welcome guest; to position you as a trusted, knowledgeable advisor.

Are you playing full out or are you hiding out?

Playing full out is confidence in who you are and what unique contribution you bring to your industry and the world. It doesn’t matter if you’re providing the same type of things to your niche as others, what matters is YOUR unique approach or spin on the subject. When you get clear on that, you’re able to play full out, with abandon, and make your maximum contribution. It’s your magic that makes it work…

On the other hand, hiding out is what many of us do when we’re afraid, discouraged, or in a down state.

What are we afraid of? Many times it’s dealing with doubt around: “What if I’m not good enough? What if I fail? What if the resources I have are not adequate?”

When we allow those questions to saddle us with fear we play small, we hide out, and miss the opportunity to contribute at our very best!

What would it be worth to you if you could conquer the voices of doubt… or the voice that may tell you you’re not good enough?

My guest on today’s episode is Dr. Cristy Lopez and she’s going to share the P.E.A.C.E. process to mindfulness and living in the present - and what that means for you is more growth, significance, and impact.

Too often we spend the bulk of our energy focusing on things that are external to us, things that are outside our control. Things like other people, situations, worries and fears. When we do that we’re using our most precious commodities, time and energy, to lead ourselves down a path that is not only unhelpful, but also destructive.

Today Dr. Cristy Lopez shows us what we can do to get our mind off the things that we can’t control by learning to live mindfully in the present moment, even if that moment is something we’d define as “bad.”

It is what it is. That’s not such a bad way of looking at life.

She does that by sharing her “P.E.A.C.E.” approach to mindfulness. Those letters stand for - Physiology, emotions, actions, cognition, and extrasensory - and she walks us through each of those areas, explaining what it means and it’s vital that you learn how to put them into practice to help set you free from negative or limiting thought patterns and also to set you up for greater things in the future.

What would happen if you were able to emotionally detach from the outcomes of any situation? What’s the difference between detachment and disconnection?

Think about it. How often are you invested personally in the response someone gives you (personally or professionally)? Or how often have you been attached to the outcome of a sales presentation or meeting?

Here’s the truth… If you’re too focused on the outcomes you’ll find yourself jump-frogging from one thing to another in a vain effort to gain false self acceptance and recognition.

Today’s episode is a conversation I had with my friend, Dr. Cristy Lopez about the importance of detachment. Frankly, it’s something I’ve had a hard time with over the years and with a shift in focus, you will get greater confidence, peace, and clarity and what that means is you can stay more in the present moment - enjoying the things that matter!

Would you like to know the powerful question my coach asked me this week?

It was a question that changed the way I look at my life overall and the efforts I’m making in business. Here’s what he asked me…

“What are you REALLY committed to?”

Think about that word, commitment. It’s nothing more than deciding what you want and taking action that ensure you will get it. It’s that simple. His question made me realize that in some areas of my life I had not defined what I wanted clearly enough… and it’s time to take action!

The difference between a dream and a commitment is the action you take.

We’ve all had dreams at one time or another, and dreams are wonderful things to have. Dreams without action are nothing more than wishes that will never come true. It takes the commitment to take action to bring dreams into reality.

Your dreams are not going to fall into your lap from the sky. They aren’t going to just happen. You’ve got to make them happen by committing yourself to a course of action that will result in those dreams materializing in your life. And it all begins with a question: What are you REALLY committed to?

That question answered, will help you define the things that you believe are truly WORTH your commitment, time, effort, and energy. It’s the first step toward seeing great accomplishments happen in your life.

What would it look like if your life as a masterpiece? Would you paint it in full color… or would it be a black and white?

On this episode of Growth to Freedom I’m going to talk straight from the heart about something I’m really fired up about. The opportunity you have to make your life a masterpiece… and getting the colors out and painting your masterpiece.

What would happen in your life, business, and relationships if you could be your most productive self?

Imagine it - every interaction, every transaction, and every conversation filled with the very best you have to give. No distractions. No divided attention. No half-hearted measures. The goal of today’s conversation is to give you some tools to help you eliminate the distractions that each of us face on a day to day basis. Today’s guest, Dr. Cristy Lopez, visited me in studio to share the tools that enable you to keep things simple, make better life choices, and maintain powerful focus. It’s all on this episode of Growth to Freedom.

Do you know the difference between being busy and being productive?

Most people don’t. Being busy can give you the feeling that you are being productive but it’s really an illusion. It’s often the case that busy people are spinning their wheels, not really getting anywhere.

Dr. Cristy Lopez is an expert in helping people recognize the patterns and habits that hold them back from maximizing their productivity in life, relationships, and business - and on this episode she shares the first steps toward recapturing your productive spark.

One of the first things you’ve got to determine is how you are going to deal with interruptions. Notice I didn’t say, “How you’re going to avoid interruptions,” because that’s not possible. You will always have people knocking on your door, calling you, emailing, interrupting - but what are you going to do to minimize the impact those inevitable interruptions have on your productivity?

Dr. Lopez says that it takes anywhere from 20 to 25 minutes for the average person to get back into a state of true productivity once they’ve been interrupted. That means it’s crucial that you know how to quickly deal with the distractions that come your way and get back into your productive state sooner.

And productivity is not just about business, it’s also needed in relationships.

When you are with your spouse or children, is your mind wandering or focused on things other than the precious time you have together in that moment? Don’t underestimate the importance of those relationships.. Dr. Lopez highlights some things you can do to help keep your mind undistracted during family time, on this episode, so be sure you take the time to listen.

Would you like to know how to package and present yourself or your offer to generate more leads, more sales, and more profits?

On this episode of Growth to Freedom that’s exactly what I’m going to show you. Once you see how simple it is, you’re going to be surprised that more people, including you, haven’t been doing this all along. It’s not a difficult process - it only takes 15 minutes of brainstorming with a pencil and paper - but it will yield long term results if you take it seriously and do the work.

The process I’m going to describe today begins with a series of simple questions that reveal the danger, needs, and desires of your ideal client.

These questions are designed to get you inside the head of that ideal client, the one who needs exactly what it is you have to offer. When you’re able to understand what they think about the problems, pains, and passions that drive them toward a solution like the one you offer, you’ll begin to see exactly what you need to say, how you need to approach them, and what you need to offer to generate the sale.

Today’s show will give you a road map that shows you the steps: How to position yourself and your product or service, how to communicate the value you offer, how to phrase your call to action, how to overcome objections, and how to ask for and get the sale.

It’s amazing what a few pointed questions can do, but you’re only going to see the results I’m promising if you take the time to actually do what I’m sharing with you: Get your pencil and paper, sit down, and walk yourself through these questions.

What if I told you that I’ve got a guaranteed way for you to lead and grow rich?

That’s the kind of statement that makes your skeptic radar go on full alert, doesn’t it? I’m going to tell you how to do exactly that in this episode. It’s not hype. It’s not wishful thinking. It’s not the typical goal-setting and productivity approach that you normally hear.
